Review: Perfectly pitched for our 10-11 yr old - This is perfect for my 10 yr old son. Enough info to cover the basics and start the discussions, but not too much detail that its too much for the age. Went through the first 2 chapters with him as these were the most relevant for now. He'll now use it as a reference book going forward into his teenage years. We've encouraged him to read through sections he feels are relevant to him and come and ask any questions if he needs further info, or discuss it with us if he'd prefer. Very useful book. Both our sons (our youngest is 5) already know about the birds and the bee's, periods, how babies are born, as I believe being open is the best way to be about something very natural, but, my husband and I felt that he should have a reference book for if there was a question he wanted to ask but was unsure of how best to phrase it. This book does a very good job of explaining the ins and outs of parent/child relationships and explains also about how relationships work between adults. I wanted something that covered the basics which this does. Theres no sex bits (not that i came across anyways) which im happy about!! It has lots of other topics like being healthy and sports aswell as emotions amd friendship. I wanted a book so my son can look at areas he was curious about without me having to approch him and cringe him out about topics he is not ready to talk about with me. This book is good for ages 9-13 (my opinon) i know ill prob have to get him a more grown up one as he gets older that talks about other subjects but iv not yet found a book that covers these topics in the way id like.
