The pen/pencil holder is a little small (holds about 2-3 pens, a highlighter and a pencil), but I guess that keeps the desk footprint down as well.I have a Motorola Droid Turbo and while it does work, you have to prop it up off of the rest about a centimeter before it gets detected and begins charging. I ended up cutting a slice out of an old mousepad and gluing it to the bottom rest so that it's always in position, and that works great.
