When the lid is on it’s secure and won’t come off. With that being said every time you remove the lid it comes off. It doesn’t attach and just stay on like you would assume unless you are using a lid with a straw. If you are using a lid that you have to take off completely to drink every single time that means you also have to hold onto the metal ring of the string handle so it doesn’t fall off while you’re drinking. It took 30 minutes for me to install the handle however now that it is installed it works as expected, it stays in place when the lid is off and does not interfere with the straw lid on the hydro flask.In order to get it attached I did have to soak it in boiling water for 1minute then attach it immediately once removed from the water.I am unable to speak to how easy it is to get off because I don’t want to remove it and go through the hassel of getting it back on.
