I was a bit nervous with the device using clay balls instead of the nornal wheat. But the clay based balls work well and hold the heat possibly a little little longer (two minutes maximum in the microwave). you have to make sure when you remove the pad from the microwave you disperse the balls evenly before you apply. This pad has worked very well and after several days my neck and should alrewady feel a lot better.
