The hangers are really good quality and they are very long with a solid hook at the top. Not sure how long the wood will last outdoors, but they seem well constructed. I’m expecting to get the usual 2 years of outdoor use before needing to replace them - but the hangers will likely last longer. . Totally worth the cost of the set.

**Q: What sort of orchids are these baskets suitable for?**
A: Many different orchids can go in these baskets. Orchids with long roots can be threaded through the slats in the bottom of the baskets. Or smaller root orchids can sit with their roots inside the basket.

**Q: What are the baskets made of?**
A: They are made of recycled teak wood off cuts from teak wood furniture making. It's a good way to make sure that scrap wood doesn't go to waste. Teak wood is hard waring and resistant to rotting, warping and splitting.

**Q: Do the mesh liners need to be used?**
A: It's optional. If you are threading an orchid's roots through the base of the basket you don't want the liners to get in the way. But if you are using a potting mix it is helpful to prevent the mix falling through.

**Q: If my orchid has outgrown its basket should I remove the basket before putting it into the new basket?**
A: Not necessarily. It can be difficult to remove a basket without breaking all of the orchid's roots. You may want to simply put the basket inside a bigger basket.

**Q: Should I mount my staghorn fern upright or sideways in a basket?**
A: Staghorn ferns can grow on almost any surface. As the fern grows and creates bigger shields it will completely cover the basket. So you can hang it upright with the basket on wires or hang the basket sideways on a wall. See above for more details.

I was trying to get away from all the usual hanging pots. I got these for my Hoyas and a staghorn fern. It has been a year and they’re still going strong. There is a learning curve for packing these full of orchid bark and moss, but I got it down. 10/10. I’m going to order more.
