When I used the chalks, most of the colors were vibrant on my light brown hair with the exception of one or two colors. My favorite part about these chalks was the packaging. Each chalk is designed like a compact where one side is a sponge-like material and the other side holds the chalk. When you slide your hair through the compact it allows you to apply the chalk mess free. In the past when I've used the chalk sticks I've made a mess of my hands and clothes during application, this method was much better. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love this product *by L***B on August 19, 2017* I love this product. My family is all dark haired. It was so easy to use on my neices' hair. My only recommendation is not to use the sponge part. I held the color side only and rub it directly in the hair. I purchased these hair chalks for my daughter to use for Halloween, and to use on occasion for dress up fun. The hair chalk comes in a small plastic compact. One side holds a makeup sponge and the other a metal tray that holds the chalk. You have to pinch to compact tight in order to use the product. If you pinch too tight it clasps shut and won't slide over the hair, it also causes too much friction on the metal against hair which causes breakage. If you don't pinch enough, the color doesn't transfer to the hair. The chalk is soft, which helped transfer to my child's hair, but it also created a large mess and coated our bathroom floor. We have used our nieces similar product from a different maker in the past, these do not compare to the ease of use of the alternate product.
