Honestly, I was a little worried that he would find this set too juvenile and uninteresting. But I ordered it anyway because it was reminiscent of Minecraft. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that he loves it. He still plays with it, which is surprising given that there aren't that many pieces in a set. But there is something satisfying about putting magnetic blocks together to form different shapes. I ended up with the farmer. I'm not disappointed, but I thought there were some cooler designs. I went ahead and rebuild it into another figure, and I mess with every now and again when my mind starts to wander at work.If you like the designs and blind bags, I'd say it's worth it, also because you can just rebuild it if you have the imagination. So the blocks are like the idea of lego, where you can make almost anything, although they look more in the style of "Minecraft" characters and materials, and instead of fitting together by clicking them together and using gravity such as with legos...this sortof almost magically just use magnets. So this allows for smoother surfaces and its really quite interesting how all the blocks just kindof stick together. So this is great for likely anyone that likes legos, and wants a new and different take on the lego experience.As for this set, you get 1 of 16 random characters I think. For me, I got the nurrse, which was one of the lesser appealing ones to me. But....I still liked it a lot as just playing with the bricks was the main attraction for me. For a kid building the character can be fun, and its easy enough for Ages 6+ to do, as these sets are excellent beginner sets into the Pixio ecosystem.I was really impressed with this...and it makes me want to get more of these and create more with them, which is a very good sign. Definitely recommend for both kids and adults, anyone that loves lego, building stuff, and perhaps video games too. Awesome.
