After a little over two months, the GTX 1060 video card ceased to function saying it was reporting errors (Code 43), and it could no longer be used for VR. MSI customer service said it was caused by going to all those harmful websites that turned off the services needed by the card and it would require me to purchase a plan costing between $120 and $180 for them to straighten it out even though the laptop is still under warranty. Just about the only websites visited by that laptop are MSI, Steam, and VivePort. My much less capable Asus laptop with an AMD processor and a GTX 960 video card, which has been all over the internet, will still power my Vive and the video card has had no problems. I think MSI designed a laptop that produces more heat than it can offload, causing components to fail, and now they won't stand behind their product.
