Not only can kids (and adults) follow the easy to read and understand building instructions, but they can learn about how solar power works, so they have a better understanding. These are fun solarbots to build and watch as they work in the bright sunlight or under a higher wattage light bulb. The only negative thing I can say about this kit is that you can only build one solarbot at a time, and then it has to be deconstructed to build the next and the next. I would like a kit where ALL of the solarbots can be built at the same time, so disassembly isn't necessary. Excellent for kids and adults, or kids and adults working side-by-side.

**Q: What's the average size of the robots once complete?**
A: Thank you for your question. Each robot is about 3.25 inches tall.

**Q: do these robots work with artificial light?  Could you play with them at night in a well-lit room?**
A: Thank you for your question. The solar panel can be powered either by direct light from an incandescent bulb (not an LED or Energy saver bulbs) or direct sunlight.

**Q: How long to charge**
A: This kit does not charge, rather it operates only while in direct light. Because the solar panel is small, it can require a good amount of energy for sufficient output. We kindly recommend trying one of the following:

(Outdoors) Direct light from the sun (indirect or cloud-covered sunlight will not work).
(Indoors) Direct light from an incandescent bulb (not an LED or an energy saver bulb).

Not only can kids (and adults) follow the easy to read and understand building instructions, but they can learn about how solar power works, so they have a better understanding. These are fun solarbots to build and watch as they work in the bright sunlight or under a higher wattage light bulb.
