There is a belt that runs horizontally around the circumference, through loops in the vertical straps, which can be sinched up to fit snug. If there was one feature I would change, it would be to have slightly longer straps for carrying. This strap is shown with the handles being about the level of the neck of the carboy. Instead, it is about 8 inches from the bottom! It will be very difficult to stabilize the carboy with the handles this low from center. With the weight of a full carboy being above center the likelihood of it trying to flip when carrying is extreme.
