The idea behind the design is good. You can, in fact, cook a large amount of bacon at one time, but it takes longer to cook. The finished product is not immersed in grease. So, the bacon tastes better. The downside is that clean-up is not as easy as I would like it to be. The drippings from the bacon stick to the bottom of the pan. For ease of cleaning, I am lining the bottom of the pan with parchment paper. The part of the cooker that holds the bacon needs to be soaked so when you clean it you do not rub off the finish.
