Review: Game changer for creative lighting on shoots - I don't pull this Spotlight projector out on every shoot, but when I do, clients go wild over the versatility from a 300W light and some sharp projection.​ In wide open spaces it nails detailed backlight and hair light for interviews. Cuts through nicely without spilling everywhere. For boring locations I throw in a gobo to project textures on walls. One of my favourite tricks was projecting a window pattern Gobo to fake sunlight streaming into the background of a warehouse on a dull November day. It transformed the whole look of the interview. Client was blown away at how impressive it seemed. Cuts setup time too. Powerful output punches far. Worth keeping in the kit for those magic moments.

I left it on the light at full percentage for an hour and worked like a charm. It’s a handy tool to control and form light and great use for bouncing on white surfaces to give a soft light to actors. Highly recommend to beginners although take precaution on any light stronger than 300W

I don't pull this Spotlight projector out on every shoot, but when I do, clients go wild over the versatility from a 300W light and some sharp projection.​ In wide open spaces it nails detailed backlight and hair light for interviews. I’m just getting into the shaping and manipulating light and this modifier along with all its features and included bits allows you to do so much. It’s also not insanely heavy and large like a lot of them are which is another win. Couldn’t recommend it enough if you’re thinking of grabbing one. Also comes in a neat nice protective case like most of the Aputure range.
