I've tried all the settings and configurations, read people's calibration settings, but the ball just blurs. Interestingly, it's worst on Fox, and better on CBS with the best quality on ESPN. So, there is some mix of the TV quality and the quality of the broadcast as delivered by FIOS.(I'm hoping that some future firmware update will improve the high-speed motion quality.)You do need to spend time calibrating the set, there are many good suggestions. I don't know how to use the advanced picture settings (11 point color tuner etc), and I suspect I could get better grayscale if I did. (Apparently you can't just copy other people's settings, each panel is unique.)Overall the usage is good, the remote is decent (but I use a Harmony Remote). The Amazon and Netflix work great, good quality HD.I tried some Netflix 4K programs and they looked better, but it didn't blow me away. So for now, I'm content with the regular 1080p HD broadcasts.Off angle view gets noticeable pretty quickly. My previous TV was a Panasonic Plasma, so I've been spoiled in that regard.If you output audio from your TV to your stereo, know that the optical output on this TV passes Dolby 5.1 (many TV's only send PCM/Stereo.) Pairs beautifully with a Sonos PLAYBAR for great sound. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars A great 4K TV for gamers, and at a great price to boot. *by A***U on Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2014* Pros:-Incredibly low-latency game mode (I calculated 14ms).-LED backlighting provides much more consistent brightness across the set, with virtually no fluctuations.-Local dimming creates blacks that are incredibly inky black (depending on the firmware).-4K picture is incredible.-Upscaling quality progressive scan content looks really good (Blu-Rays look fantastic, as do PS4 games). Even my Dreamcast looks great on it.-Fantastic bang for your buck.-You don't have to worry about screen burn-in.-The TV is completely silent.Cons:-1.0.4.1 firmware update changes local dimming so it no longer completely turns off the backlighting, hurting black levels.-When rapidly transitioning from dark to bright (and vice versa), you can notice the backlighting dimming/brightening with a bit of a lag. This is less noticeable in 1.0.4.1, so that update was likely an attempted fix for this issue.-Only one HDMI2.0 input (HDMI5), which is also the only input with the super low-latency game mode. This input uses a simpler upscaling algorithm that works well for Blu-Rays or game systems, but struggles with low-quality interlaced content.-Upscaling interlaced and/or lower quality content isn't great, even on other HDMI inputs (my cable box looks OK through HDMI1-4, but awful on HDMI5).-Mediocre viewing angles.-USB media player can only play 4K videos encoded in h.265 (no h.264).If you're a gamer, this is a fantastic TV. It offer super low latency, a great picture, and you don't have to worry about burn-in. Even if you're not a gamer, this is the only 4K set available with LED backlighting (the others use inferior side-lighting). This allows for a much more consistent picture across the screen, with no flashlighting or banding. OLED will provide a better picture than any of these technologies, but it's too expensive right now, and there are still burn-in concerns. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Flat Screen Big Dissapointment *by J***P on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2017* Purchased this TV on 2/28/2015. Performed beautifully (would have given in 5 Stars) until 8/1/2017 when the picture went dark. For the week prior the TV was having difficulty powering up taking as many as 6-8 switch-on attempts to get to stay on. Diagnosed as a power supply problem. Was unable to locate and procure a replacement power supply through VizParts, Shop Jimmy, or Encompass Parts as suggested by VISIO (~$70 and easy replacement according to YouTube) except out of stock or unavailable. Had to resort to a repair service that would charge $300 for the power supply (which they were able to get with in two days) and another $100 for a blown out LED strip. My expectation was that I had purchased a TV that would last 7-10 years. Multiple repair people have said that all Flat Screen need repair with in 2-3 years. Good business for them. Bad Deal for us.
