The side pockets can be buttoned shut, but not particularly easy to do that so I will probably use with the flaps tucked in. Only one inner pocket, which could be improved by a fastening of some sort. This royal blue garment was only received today but I'm very pleased with it and it seems to be good value for the money, so long as the zip stands the test of time of course. Have now bought two more in green and olive, with the trouble and strife having a part share in the green one! My normal large size was too big so I returned it and sent for a Medium which is perfect. Much better than my old one as it has more pockets and they have buttons. Great jacket at a great price. Just bear in mind that it is a 'bomber' style jacket and might be a bit shorter than you expected. Also after a first wash, the lining had shrunk a bit more than the outer. Still acceptable shape though. Overall good vfm.
