It would hold the scent for a while too, sometimes even until the next day depending how much oil I put. I'm giving it 4 stars only because it just broke on me, right at the part where the size adjuster is so I can't really put it back together. It lasted about 4 months of close to daily use. This is pretty decent considering it was only around $8 at the time of purchase. It looks good and was easy to adjust and didn't really get in the way unless I would use a laptop keyboard. I have kind of a large wrist size so I was really happy to see this. The fine braided rope ends are strung through a short section of macrame then through an additional plastic bead each. Thus a person can grab the end beads and pull them to adjust the fit, and it stays in place at that size. The main beads on the bracelet are a very fine vesicular (holes or pores) volcanic, with one contrasting howlite bead for decoration. The vesicles in the lava beads hold essential oil when it is rubbed onto them. My bracelet smelled like the oil I put on it for about 2 hours. Also, my Russian Blue kitten had a blast playing with the bracelet's ends. Apparently it doubles as a cat toy.
