Mine lasted three years until a sudden jolt of electricity flipped my circuit breakers, and caused a city wide power outage for two hours. When power was restored, the clock did not light up. I will probably buy another one to replace it, because it is so functional.

Pretty nice - you can change the display color and the voice announcement is easy to understand although it's delivered quite slowly which is probably best for older people or those hard of hearing. I am curious to know if there's an internal battery that will remember all settings when/if unplugged.
