It is made of real wood and the quality is very solid. It is not fare to compare this pair with the $250 Bose QC20 because of the price. However, Inshed can give you 80% experience of the qc20 with only 1/5of the price. I am very happy of this purchasing.By the way, it even works with the NC off.
