They several different strobing and solid light options and can be secured either by a magnet or hung by a hook (integrated into the light). The only drawbacks I saw were that the instructions weren't clear on the easy way to turn them off, a couple of the magnets were pulled out when they cam in contact with each other (i.e. do not put them back-to-back) and most importantly, there were a couple of units which did not turn on at all (defective right out of the box).
