I have also used perm rods on shoulder length locs before and they worked well if you left them in for a couple of days but they weren't comfortable.However, I had never used sponge rollers on medium length locs before. These work a treat.All the sizes will work with them, just use common sense and only roll one or two locs with the smallest size. The largest size will take 4 or 5 locs at a time. I was able to do my whole head and still have rollers left over.Your hair needs to be damp before you use these - a good time to use them is either after you have washed your locs or spritzed them with a mixture of Rosewater and Vitamin E. so that they are damp.The plastic on these rollers are strong and have a really good snap sound to them. They are nice and secure in your hair and are easy to use. They are also pretty comfortable to sleep in - just remember to wear a satin scarf or bonnet as always. I left them in for nearly two days and it was nice and comfortable.It's definitely worth paying more for better rollers.
