Loads of features accessed by various button presses and knob turn combinations, so not the easiest device to master, but essentially simple if you just need to dial in a frequency and transmit and receive. Cheap construction means that these devices may not always quite meet the stringent rules regarding harmonic suppression and out of band emissions. That said, they work well enough and reports of interference are rare. For a newly licensed ham, this is a cheap and cheerful way to get on the air until you can afford to upgrade to better equipment. The computer programming lead is invaluable in getting things set up the way you want them. Fantastic value for money and easy to see why these have been flying off the shelves, but please use sensibly and be aware of their limitations and licence requirements.
