## Description

The Platinum preppy fountain pen, designed in Japan features a colour translucent polycarbonate barrel corresponding to the colour of the ink. It's a refillable fountain pen with the famous 'slip and seal' Mechanism which means the cap is air tight and prevents the ink from drying out.

Review: Superb quality for pocket money price - Like all Platinum Preppies, this 02 Extra Fine is a superb, no frills fountain pen. The nib has a bit more feedback than the 03 Fine but still not what I'd call scratchy (even when using the back of the nib for those ultra fine lines) I ink mine with Platinum Carbon Black cartridges nowadays for drawing/sketching but I have converted Preppies to eye-dropper in the past with great success (all that is required is some silicone grease for the threads and a simple 'O' ring) If you're new to them and unsure about how you'd get on with fountain pens so don't want to splash out on something more expensive at first, I'd highly recommend a Preppy (though maybe the 03 Fine to start with) as they are fantastic, reliable writers at an insanely cheap price. Also recommended for "en plein air" sketchers who don't want the anxiety of taking a more expensive pen out and about (plus you have the added bonus of being able to use Carbon Black in cartridge form which saves potential mishaps with bottled ink! All in all, I think everyone should have at least.one Preppy in their collection.

Like all Platinum Preppies, this 02 Extra Fine is a superb, no frills fountain pen. This is my go-to pen for my son to take to school. It's decent quality, low-cost and writes well. Durability wise they last until he loses them, which is what you want for a pen for teenagers at school.

Very nice pen and extra fine nib is lovely to write with, don't leave cap off for long though as it will dry out but that's kinda a given.
