And Susanne is such an author. I was totally entertained by this story of a man who couldn't get past his guilt because his reckless disregard of time caused so much heartache. The story was laid out so well, the flow never stopped. Just bought the second in the series. The plot is not complex, but highly entertaining.With books of fiction, I like well-developed characters involved in rich story-lines that stay with me after I've gone to bed. This book certainly fills that bill.The characters are developed not so much that you can visualize them physically, but you can really understand them emotionally. The two main characters are realistic and believable. Our hero and protector cannot leap tall buildings in a single bound, but is definitely skilled at what he does. He’s an imperfect man with emotions and a big heart who gets the job done. Our victim’s trauma is uniquely captured and this lovely lady’s inner strength reads true. Is there romantic involvement between protector and victim? You’ll see. All the supporting characters are purposefully introduced without superfluous characters to confuse the reader.The pace of the story is set with the situation, on several occasions at a break-neck pace. The book is well researched. A distant villain with a plocomelia abnormality; nice touch.
