Review: A Beautiful Easter Tradition - Since my children were small, I have purchased fillable wooden eggs for them to paint in the days before Easter. Each year, we add a few more and have amassed quite a wonderful and sentimental collection. In the past, I have ordered from Oriental Trading and, while the price is great, many of the eggs do not close properly without some sanding and effort. A few years ago, I decided I wanted to limit my purchases of Chinese goods and looked for an alternative. These eggs are Russian-made and beautiful. Each one closes perfectly and they are sanded as smooth as can be. They are also a little larger than their Chinese counterparts and separate in the middle versus near the top as the others we own do. I prefer these eggs from Golden Cockerel and hope they never stop selling them. They are not the cheapest but this is definitely a case of you get what you pay for. I am willing to pay more for something that will become family heirlooms I hope my children will want when they are grown. The eggs come packaged well and include a sweet little print of a matryoshka doll. So glad to have this resource to continue a beloved family tradition. Review: Better than expected - I received two sets of six. My dozen Russian-made eggs will be keepsake gifts for twelve people at our Easter celebration. I’m taking them now to be hand painted by two local artist. I previously tried other cheaper brands and there’s no comparison. I returned all the other brands. These are 100% perfectly made with quality workmanship. Initially I thought I over paid but in hindsight, they are worth the price considering the superior product. I plan to purchase these beautiful Russian-made eggs every year as gifts. ## Features - Authentic Russian hollow egg - Top quality 100% Guaranteed - Pre-sanded and ready to decorate - Please be advised: Blank items ordered from Golden Cockerel are made of real live linden wood. Real wood has imperfections, including but not limited to; discolorations, knots, holes and dry spots. While we strive to pick the best, blemish free linden wood for our blank products, imperfections will occur. In the case of knots, dents or holes we may use wood putty to fill these areas. This creates a smooth surface for the application of artwork. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0791KYXR7 | | Additional Features | Handmade, Limited Edition | | Best Sellers Rank | #74,920 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ( See Top 100 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ) #1,548 in Unfinished Wood | | Brand Name | Golden Cockerel | | Color | Brown | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars (51) | | Finish Types | Natural | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 2"D x 2"W x 2.75"H | | Manufacturer | Golden Cockerel | | Manufacturer Part Number | 300002 | | Material Type | Wood | | Model Number | 300002 | | Mounting Type | Tabletop | | Number of Items | 6 | | Occasion | Easter | | Product Care Instructions | Dust regularly with a soft cloth" or "Wipe clean | | Style | Industrial | | Theme | Object | | UPC | 873712002859 | | character | Cockerel | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Golden Cockerel - **Color:** Brown - **Material:** Wood - **Style:** Industrial - **Theme:** Object ## Images ![Golden Cockerel Set of 6 Blank Hollow Wooden Eggs - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51pPFlVTigL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Beautiful Easter Tradition *by N***K on May 4, 2021* Since my children were small, I have purchased fillable wooden eggs for them to paint in the days before Easter. I previously tried other cheaper brands and there’s no comparison. I returned all the other brands. These are 100% perfectly made with quality workmanship. Stop using disposable plastic eggs, and create a legacy item.:) *by T***H on February 19, 2021* These wooden eggs are simply perfect! If you want to stop using disposable plastic eggs, and want to create a lasting legacy item to pass down through the generations, these are the way to do it! They ALL open beautifully, and have an excellent seal when closed. They are expertly crafted, and are customizable. I chose six spring images to hand draw on each, and my husband used his wood burning tools to go over my art. Next, I color coded each so that they could be allocated to specific family members when trying to hunt then in the yard. We are NOT trained artists, just artsy creative types who wanted to create something beautiful, and who are dedicated to getting away from disposable crud associated with holidays. What you see here are they way they appear before we applied a varnish to the outside. I hope to buy six more to create a fourth set in shades of teal. ## Frequently Bought Together - Golden Cockerel Set of 6 Blank Hollow Wooden Eggs - 80PCS Wooden Spring Ornaments to Paint, 8 Styles DIY Blank Unfinished Wood Cutouts Ornament for Home Crafts Hanging Decorations, Insect Dragonfly Butterfly Snail Watering Can Mushroom Flower Shape - 54PCS Unfinished Blank Wooden Cutouts Craft for Kids,Suit for Children's Painting DIY Room Decoration Gift Giving Surprise (54 Insect) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/59224810-golden-cockerel-set-of-6-blank-hollow-wooden-eggs](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/59224810-golden-cockerel-set-of-6-blank-hollow-wooden-eggs) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
