I recommend doing it every 10K miles for an older engine. Do NOT add it directly to your fuel tank. The best method is to do it directly to your fuel system as others have suggested (or have your local mechanic do it for you if you are concerned about doing it correctly). Remember!!!!!!!!!, this does not replace a CLEAN fuel tank! Drop it and clean it if you are worried about cheap, dirty diesel fuel clogging up everything. If every time you remove your fuel filter it is full of dirt, you have a dirty tank! **Q: is this a fuel injector cleaner or engine block cleaner?** A: This cleaner is for the fuel system **Q: can you use this on a LB7 6.6 Duramax Diesel** A: Ran it through my 05 lly duramax just fine don't see why it wouldn't work in the lb7. It made the motor run more smooth I ran 2 bottles through it direct. **Q: I filled my tank+sml bottle lucas inj cleanr, now have 3/4 tank, can i top off+this with no problems mixing the chemicals?** A: I run it straight to the engine bypassing fuel tank and filter. You WILL notice a difference after using if your diesel had been neglected for a few thousand miles like my 2014 Passat TDI SEL was. In the 14 Passat it is super simple to use, I just pulled out the old fuel filter, sucked all the old fuel out of the fuel filter canister with a turkey baster, put the new filter in, and before starting the engine I filled the entire canister up with Diesel Purge. When I started it up the engine runs great on the straight diesel purge. There is absolutely no doubt in my "butt dyno" that power has been restored. Better mileage, better acceleration, smoother idle, less diesel knock.
