In fact, I couldn't make these spin unless they were hanging in full sun, and they eventually stopped spinning as they warmed up. It is better to buy a European-made clear globe with colored glass inside (check other sites) than these inexpensive knock-offs. Although European-made glass is 2-3x more expensive, it actually works.
