The blades are made from fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to Rc 59. The blades take and hold an excellent edge. This is a Premium 12 piece set contains the following sizes: 3 mm (1/8 inch) 4 mm (3/16 inch), 6 mm (1/4 inch), 8 mm (5/16 inch), 10 mm (3/8 inch) 12 mm (1/2 inch), 16 mm (5/8 inch), 20 mm (11/16 inch) , 26 mm (1" 1/16 inch), 32 mm (1 1/4 inch), 40 mm (1 5/8 inch) and 50 mm (2 inch). Blade bevels are ground at a 25 degree angle. Blades are 4 1/2 inch inches to 6 1/2 inches long. Handles are lacquered European Beech and 4 1/2 inches to 5 1/4 inches long. Overall sizes range in length from 9 8 to 11 3/4 inches long. Blades have well seated steel tangs and handles have steel ferrules to withstand vigorous mallet work. As with all fine edge tools, they will need final sharpening/honing before use. These chisels are an excellent value in a good quality tool. The longest one is 12 1/4" long and the shortest one is 10 1/4" **Q: do these chisels have bevel edges - i.e. suitable for getting into sharp corners for dovetail work?** A: I'm no expert in chisels, but I can describe what I have. The outside edges of these chisels are ground perpendicular to the bottom of the chisel, and taper in height from a height of .040" to .050" at the front and continue to a height of around .150" where they end. It seems to me that having a minimal taper on edge faces would be better. I took a look at Paul Seller's dovetail cutting video, and his are much closer to parallel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCYjoj6cfnoTake a look at a Lie Nielsen bevel-edge chisel, and you'll see that their edges are parallel: https://www.lie-nielsen.com/product/bevel-edge-chisels/1-inch-bevel-edge-chisel?node=4099Please note that the backs of these chisels are not even close to flat. Half of the ones I received were around .0025" out-of-flat, and will require a significant amount of lapping on a very coarse diamond stone or sand paper. **Q: Are these naren richter chisels?** A: I don't think so but they are great chisels I love them **Q: What should I use to remove the rust preventative?
