All boar bristle brushes are not a like - didn't know it was so complicated! This brush is cushioned and the bristle work best with fine or thinning hair. My hair is past my shoulders. I don't think the length of hair is an issue - it is the thickness. If you have thick hair this brush will not work for you as it will not go through the layers. Price wise it is comparable to other places that sell the same brand - liked that I could return it if needed. I will be keeping it. It is of high quality and makes my hair shiny and smooth! Review: Gorgeous Quality - This is a phenomenal hairbrush- I have moderately fine but very long hair and am blown away by Kent’s quality of the bristles and brush handle/ paddle. I would say this is even better quality than my Mason Pearson pure bristle brush and less than 1/6th of the price. I’ve already cleaned hair out of this with the excellent brush comb provided and no bristles fell out. I’m sure it’s inevitable to lose some but no sign of it yet. My hair and scalp look and feel fabulous.
