We pretty much keep the top piece extended all the time because it’s a little tough to change it up and down but that is a very little nuisance. Over all, easy to use as recommended.
Review: Great Cover - When Used Properly - I was getting tired of the kids not covering their food in the microwave. The splatters would eventually cause the waveguide covers to become defect due to carbonization of grease which causes arcing. So I wanted something that could live in the microwave and would be there every time the door was opened to use it. It works well, and is easy to clean. Definitely worth the price. As others have said, the handle is a bit small and hard to grip. But, it's not terribly bad. One thing I did notice from some reviewers, is that some people are, for some reason, using this thing as some sort of bowl to place things inside in the microwave. And some people are actually placing things on top of this thing as well like a platform. You cannot do this. The materials this is made of cannot withstand concentrated heat like that. If you do these things you will destroy it! So be aware, it is a cover. Not a platform. And not a bowl.

Really great for what we needed. It has handled the heat and times we have used thus far. The bottle piece handles the dishwasher well.
