A: The Hanes men's size medium is 38-40 the Hanes women's size large is 37-39 size 14 casual wear & 39-41 size 14 in formal wear. So they are close.
Hanes does make a women's athletic hoodie as well as a women's EcoSmart hoodie you could also try Gildan's hoodies.

**Q: does it shrink after wash and dry?**
A: I have never had a shrinkage problem.  Best wash in cool water.  The
color does not bleed.  Dry on "delicate" cycle and the hoodie stays
soft and pliable.  Excellent product.
