Another fine electro production from Tenniswood

*by J***M on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 January 2004*

It starts off where Keith Tenniswood left off with his brilliant debut album 'Radioactive Man'. Particularly with the absolutely stunning 'Airlock', which is definitely one of the best IDM tracks I have ever heard, in accordance with what a previous reviewer also said. But towards the end the quality of the music starts to drop and starts to lack consistency for this first time. I don't think Drum and Bass suits Radioactive Man very well and when he tries it here, it just doesn't sound right. Drum and Bass is not a very creative form of music and Tenniswood is creative and innovative so maybe he should concentrate on the superior forms of electro, breakbeat and electronica, at which he is so good at.The last 3 tracks are just not as good as what he has done before, so that is why this album gets 4 stars, rather than 5.

    The Sound of Dark Breakbeat

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 September 2003*

This album will appeal to those who like their Breakbeat music full of Sci-Fi sound-effects, bleeps, blips & beeps. The album starts with 'Suddenly Projected', a fairly down-tempo track but a good opener. With the exception of the final track, this album is instrumental throughout. My favourite tracks have to be 'Kik Yerself' & 'Ruby Rage' which are both excellent examples of frenzied Breakbeat music & they sound like Radioactive Man (a.k.a. Keith Tenniswood from Two Lone Swordsmen) really had fun whilst making them. There's also a great Drum 'n Bass track near the end ('Eat 'Em All') which puts some old-school loops & effects together with an evil bassline with superb results. There are dark undertones throughout most of this album, with a lot of tracks sounding bass-heavy & slightly moody, but at times these tracks loose their individuality & begin to sound a bit too similar. This album may not be a classic but it is still enjoyable & I would recommend it to anyone who likes well-produced & original Breakbeat music.
