I cannot believe how inexpensive it is for the quality! Although the design of the packaging/the container is fairly cheap looking and mediocre, the design of the brush and the actual mascara is first-rate. The brush is long and thin. Every single lash is separated and coated, allowing both (extreme) lengthening and gentle curling. It doesn't clump and it looks very natural. Then there is the fact it's a tubing mascara, so it doesn't run or smudge - I'm not sure why, but the moment I turned 40 my mascara started to run and smudge, but this stays put and is easy to remove with a cleansing cloth and water. Finally, and most importantly to me, elf products are all vegan - so completely cruelty-free (and that includes not using ingredients from, or trading with, countries that mandate animal testing). Many beauty brands may be cruelty-free in your own country, but engage in cruel animal testing practices in other countries (such as China), so going for a product labelled as 'vegan' is the only way to be sure. You can rest easy with elf products that you will not be funding animal cruelty.
