So there is no heat at that connection to conduct into the handle. So mostly I'm comparing it to that one but I'll also address some of the other reviews.1. It keeps coffee hot, not sure how long people expect it, its not a flask. But when I make a pot to myself, it is nicely hot for a couple of hours. Certainly no need to rush.2. It cleans nicely, it also leaves no dregs, so its very easy to simply tip the grounds out into the bin, it isn't a muddy gloop like others I have used that doesn't drain the whole water. Goes in the dishwasher but mostly I just give it a rinse.3.
