This was the second option for certified organic bags, so I tried this brand next. START HERE! Save yourself the time and wasted effort, this bag WORKS! I did need to presoak and wash these bags, I think there was just a little residual dye from the green seam that was coming out, but overall started much cleaner than the other brand. The other brand I had to wash over and over and over and it was turning the water milky brown. This one, as said just had a little green coming off but after a few washes the water was entirely clean. It is easy to use. You do need to tie a temporary binding knot by hand, so be careful to use a slip knot. I have used it about half a dozen times. I use it to brew my overnight coffee. I accidentally overfilled it one time, it didn't leak, but some of the coffee grounds were still dry despite being soaked overnight.
