Featuring a smart battery level indicator with color-coded alerts for alkaline and rechargeable batteries, it supports smartphones, tablets, and other USB devices. Powered by 4 AA batteries, a reliable emergency charger. Review: Practical emergency charging solution - When fitted with good quality alkaline AA batteries, this will charge a phone slowly - it's better to turn off the phone as the output from this charger is only 800mAh so charging is slow. It's unlikely to be able to fully charge a phone due to the power delivery characteristics of single use alkaline batteries, but it topped up my phone by about 20% a few times before the batteries died. Using single use Lithium batteries will probably work better, or perhaps using rechargable NiMH. This is not a replacement for a charger or a power bank, but makes an excellent emergency charger as AA batteries are readily available everywhere. It won't charge my camera as it doesn't deliver enough power. Review: Only works with brand new batteries - This product is a great idea - power/charge USB devices from AA batteries. Great for emergencies when you're more likely to find a shop selling AA batteries than a fully charged USB power bank. Unfortunately it looks like this device isn't that well designed. If it's given anything other than totally brand new batteries from the pack it'll refuse to even turn on, never mind charge anything (I've used Energizer and Varta). That means it won't do much charging before it rejects a set of brand new batteries, meaning you'll be chucking out batteries that still have plenty of life in them. I've not tried it with rechargeables but if you have charged AA batteries ready when you can't charge from the mains, you might as well carry a large USB power pack with you instead! ## Features - Powered by 4 AA batteries - Ideal for smartphones, tablet computers and many other devices - Features a battery level indicator (green for alkaline and blue for rechargeable) - We would recommend the use of a good quality battery with our product (Alkaline batteries recommended) - Output current 800mA ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0168K5FTQ | | Battery Cell Type | Alkaline | | Battery cell composition | Alkaline | | Best Sellers Rank | 127 in Mobile Phone Portable Power Banks | | Brand | Mercury | | Brand Name | Mercury | | Colour | Blue,Green | | Compatible Devices | Smartphone | | Connector Type | usb | | Connector type | usb | | Country of Origin | China | | Customer Reviews | 3.5 out of 5 stars 228 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05015972173039 | | Item Dimensions | 8 x 3 x 3 millimetres | | Item Weight | 0.04 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | AVSL Group Ltd | | Manufacturer Part Number | 421.770UK | | Model Number | 421.770UK | | Number of Batteries | 4 AA batteries required. | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Ports | 4 | | Output Current | 0.8 Amps | | Output Wattage | 800 Watts | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Power source | Corded Electric | | Product Warranty | 1 year manufacturer warranty. | | Reusability | Rechargeable | | Voltage | 5 Volts | | Warranty Type | No Warranty | ## Product Details - **Battery cell composition:** Alkaline - **Brand:** Mercury - **Colour:** Blue,Green - **Connector type:** usb - **Voltage:** 5 Volts ## Images ![Emergency USB Power Bank - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61q57ektgiL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can I use good quality rechargeable batteries in this powerbank ?** A: Yes, I use decent alkaline or rechargeable batteries. **Q: Can this be use to power USB lights?** A: It charges a mobile phone so no reason it would not power a USB light also. **Q: Will this power a 5v, 2A usb heating pad?** A: You won’t pull enough power from 4xAA to power anything with a usb connection. Waste of money. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Practical emergency charging solution *by A***R on 21 September 2019* When fitted with good quality alkaline AA batteries, this will charge a phone slowly - it's better to turn off the phone as the output from this charger is only 800mAh so charging is slow. I've found mine runs down to 16% and if you go below that it comes back to 16 (Duracells). Haven't tried to run it empty yet. ## Frequently Bought Together - Mercury | Emergency USB Power Bank - Duracell Plus AA Batteries (12 Pack) - Alkaline 1.5V - Up To 100% Extra Life - Reliability For Everyday Devices - 0% Plastic Packaging - 10-Year Storage - LR6 MN1500 - Energizer Eveready LED Torch (2 Pack), Super Bright Flashlight for Outdoors, Camping and Gifts (Batteries Included), Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/59918193-emergency-usb-power-bank](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/59918193-emergency-usb-power-bank) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
