How to Encourage Hay Eating Here are some tips to encourage your rabbit to eat more hay Reduce the dry food you feed. Some foods are tastier than hay but, like humans, rabbits need to eat a balanced diet not just the foods that taste best. If your rabbit always has dry food available, it has no reason to eat hay. It’s like sitting a child down with a free choice between cake and vegetables. Feed tastier hay. Not all hay is the same; it comes in different varieties. Try different types of hay to see which your rabbit likes best. Make sure the hay is good quality and stored well. A ball of good quality hay around the size of their body per day is ideal. Despite the importance of hay, many rabbits are reluctant to eat it due to the lack of nutritious hay available. Not eating hay is a major factor in dental disease and illnesses relating to the gut, so putting in some hard work to encourage your rabbit to eat more has real health benefits. I Then had to clean out the whole cage because of the dust. I would not recommend it for any small animals due to the risk of respiratory problems and injuries from the sharp spikes bits.

**Q: About how long would this bag last with one rabbit?**
A: a rabbit should have access to unlimited amounts of hay our four rabbits weighing seven lbs each go thru eight 48 oz bags a month they are new Zealand breed

**Q: Is this hay trust worthy to buy?**
A: I'm not sure what would make it not trustworthy. It seems fine to me.  The same Timothy hay I usually get, but cut and packaged in a way that makes it much easier to pull apart.

**Q: Do i put this this in the bottom of the cage or do i put it in a feeding rack?**
A: Feeding rack /bin or flat surface where they can eat off of. Might fall too much through bottom of cage, not that your rabbit might not drag to our through there when eating anyways.

**Q: How many layers is in the 60 oz bag?**
A: Plenty for a month and it's long enough for 2 Guinea pigs to eat
