In winter, it gets dark very early here. I wanted to get my 10 year-old son reflectors for his backpack (for safety). These are made of soft plastic material (and they may feel cheap), but they do reflect light. As they are light and soft, I think you can use them on jackets (on the zipper, for example) too.
