She was starting to limp from time to time, and after two visits to the vet and two sets of x-rays confirming good bone structure and no arthritis, we started suspecting her bed. Greyhounds love to sleep in a variety of positions... it's a constant form of amusement to see these graceful dogs splayed out in crazy ways. She had become quite fond of our Halo beds (sometimes called a cuddle cup), but this required her to curl her body inward. It occurred to us that this may be the problem – we could see that her rear leg joints were sometimes forced into odd positions that seemed likely to cause undue pressure.Sure enough, after buying this bed and taking away the Halo beds, her limp eventually disappeared. For an older dog, having a bed large enough to sleep extended becomes increasingly important.
