This problem did occur to me when I looked at it, but when I noticed that there was a matching fitting with only a single hook I assumed that this one would take either one or two coats - but in fact you must have two in order to stop the rotation, or hang a single coat right over the two hooks. Very disappointed as I really needed a double hook. I would suggest, however, that they are only really suitable for a single coat / dressing gown on each hanger, even though they have two prongs - this is because they are really quite small, so the two prongs are very close together. Much smaller than thought but good quality and exactly what was needed. We had suction hooks in the bathroom for the towels which kept falling off.
