## Description

Apoxie Sculpt is used around the world by sculptors, restorers, miniaturists, hobbyists, crafters, repair persons, and students. It is used in museums, schools, motion picture studios, aquariums, and theme parks. Apoxie Sculpt, is a selfhardening synthetic clay that combines the features and benefits of clay with those of epoxies.

Review: Apoxie sculpt is a great product in general. I find it easy to work with but hate having to use gloves when working with it. The bronze seemed more dry and did not adhere as well as the white. I was a little disappointed. With that said, I’m thinking that I might have gotten an old batch? . It’s very expensive, however a little goes a long way and it works well for fixing fired ceramics and much cleaner than working with traditional apoxies.
Review: I got this to fill in big cracks and missing chuncks on a cement clay art sculpture I glues back together. I pressed woven cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol onto the Apoxie filled areas before it dried to match the original texture of the sculpture, painted it to match after it dried! It dries exactly as it was applied, no shrinkage!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I mix the white and brown to get a lighter brown?**
A: Yes, you can use Part A white and Part A brown to make a lighter shade of brown. Brown is more difficult to lighten than white is to darken. I suggest you start with 3/4 Part A white to 1/4 Brown. Add more brown as you go until you get to your desired color. Remember to measure the amounts as you go so you can achieve the same color if more is needed. DO NOT add Part B (hardener) til you reach your desired color. Adjust color if needed and remember to keep the Parts A and B equal. Good luck with you project.

**Q: can this be used as an overcoat to regular clay?**
A: not really. If your clay is completely dry, maybe. but this is not really a product for that purpose. You could maybe roll it very very thin and lay it over your clay project...but the apoxie starts to set maybe before you can cover the whole thing and get it nice and smooth. If you want an epoxy or resin finish on clay, better to use gelcoat maybe? But really this is a product that you can use like clay.

**Q: Could I use liver of sulphur with this to give it a patina?**
A: Liver of sulphur is for metals like silver. This product is a plastic type material. You could give it a fake patina by using burnt umber acrylic paint and wiping most of it off while still wet. Apply varnish.

**Q: How much volume of material do you get? ...I realize it it s 16oz by weight... I'm not sure how that translate into quantity/volume**
A: The 2 jars are 8 ounces each. If I remember correctly, the product is mixed 1 to 1 so the total volume of the product is about that of a large can of soup. It would not be the same volume as a large jar of mayonnaise. I think the manufacturer's page has the number of cubic inches. The stuff is pretty dense, so it's a little tricky to be more clear.

Is Part-A supposed to be nearly dry? I don't think so. It was crusty to the touch and hard to mix with Part-B. It's also a green-ish color where the hardness is. I'm sure Part-A is supposed to be Grey. I genuinely don't like how my first time trying this product and I received crusty clay. Delivery went well but I genuinely do not like the fact that Part-A was nearly dried out upon opening.
