I think the mixed reviews are based on the misunderstanding of what the material is like. It’s a flexible/bendable foam; not rigid. So it’s great for custom use. The sound proofing is as expected. It dampens sound, and is easy work with. Just put it up, so we will see how long the adhesive lasts. In the spot where I used it, there is a vent that has worn other soundproofing prematurely. So if it sticks more than a month then it will outperform more expensive ones we have used in the past. I will update in a month. Slight odor, but not overly offensive. I imagine it will fade.
