I really enjoyed this book. It is a bit of Iowa history, cooking, and also a travelogue of places to visit in Iowa. One can just pick it up, open it up to any page and enjoy a 2 or 3 page discussion of Iowa people and places and the particular food that they might have brought from their native land. So far, I have ordered more copies to give away to a friend and one son

Loved the combination of history and food…also enjoyed the pictures and recipes. As a Wisconsin girl, I enjoyed the background that the Iowans shared with people from so many countries. Our Federated Club purchased a copy of this book in memory of a club member who loved history, travel, and food…perfect book!

This is not a comprehensive history of "food" in Iowa, but it was good book and I enjoyed reading it. It was a fast read.
