Mellif is my new go-to brand for quality products that utilize DEWALT (and other brand) batteries. I have subscribed to the DEWALT platform for years and have plenty of batteries, so why not utilize a discount brand that is made to accept DEWALT batteries? I have bought numerous tools made by Mellif, and have yet to be disappointed. These tools exhibit very comparable features and quality to the actual DEWALT brand tools at a mere fraction of the cost. This Mellif Cordless Handheld Planer is no exception. It has all of the features of the DEWALT brand tool and then some, and is much more comfortable in my hand and has a much quieter operation. Replacement blades are easy to find and easy to change, and are reversible, so you get twice the life from them. As far as cordless handheld planers go, Mellif has my vote!!

n my original review, I stated how the wrench, listed on the parts listing in the manual, was missing. I need to correct that statement. Although the wrench was not in the parts bag, it is actually attached to the tool, inserted on the side. (which is very cool and convenient)I reached out to Mellif and they did the research and made me aware of the tools location. So, I am changing my review to five stars. Thanks Mellif, for pointing this out!

Works as advertised, and does what I neede.

My experiences with Planers is limited to industrial sized ones in a couple mills I work in when I was younger. These machines would flatten just about any sized piece of lumber or peeler core you could fit in them. So needless to say I have seen handheld ones but never used and didn't expect it to work very well. First of all it's not too heavy being made of mostly plastic but it feels very solid. I tried it out after looking over the instructions and getting the feel for how it turns on and how the adjustments work. I have several different sized 20V Batteries for Dewalt tools and all fit just fine and ran the tool. I tested it first on a piece of Oak I attempted to make a box from several months ago. When I say piece of Oak I mean a small log that I split using mostly a hand saw. So it's not flat at all on the split part. I tried the planer out and it took like 3 passes and I was down almost an 1\8" of an inch perfectly flat across the whole section. I think this tool will really help me be able to make other Projects rather than just the Primitive Mugs and goblets I make now. I have used it to make the rim of one of my cups nice and flat so it doesn't look like some caveman chopped it up with a stone axe. I have not tried the edge guide as yet but the little chamfer notch worked great.

Like it for the hard to reach places

I have been wanting a cordless planer for some time now, so I thought I would give this one a try. This planer is well made out of good quality materials. Fit and finish are good. Standard DeWalt 20v battery fits and works perfectly. The included blades are nice and sharp and cut cleanly. Includes a guide and dust catcher bag. Plenty of power. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

Very expensive and it not a good product don’t but if your 30 days run out after buying this planner it will stop working and will lose your money
