These lights are easy to install, and there is a switch on the back so that the temperature (light color) can quickly be adjusted. They attach directly to a standard ceiling box I used this installation method), and they also came with spring clips to retrofit can lights (I did not use these). The lights come with wire nuts, and the stranded lead wires have soldered tips so they are easier to connect. They are dimmable with compatible dimmer switches. I can't comment on service life- it will be a few years before I can be sure about how long they last.
