When I opened it today I saw on the box it says made in China and that was very disappointing, but if you look on the bottom of the unit it says it's made in Turkey or at least it has the name Ankara, Turkey where it would normally show place of origin. So I'm not exactly sure. The box says China the product is marked Turkey. I opened it, washed the pot and I made the first cup of coffee from it and it worked absolutely perfect and the sensor did not let it boil over. I was not able to get it to pour off the foam and then repeat as I can fixing it to traditional way but it turned out almost or close enough to make it worthwhile just for the ease of use. I bought this to travel with me and make coffee in the hotels and it seems like it will be perfect.
