Review: So disappointing, tech support patchy, needed a firmware upgrade to work! - I bought this ahead of a gig expecting it to be a plug-n-play job. No. Far from it. I thought I'd had this all setup but come broadcast day I wasnt able to get online so the stream didnt happen. Client was understanding, thankfully. Long story short: Had to contact EE to find out my 4G traffic code because the "AUTO" feature didnt work so couldnt work out it was one of the biggest UK providers going. What? After back + forth over email - because no phone numbers from the manufacturer. Equally their Facebook is manned by maybe one person, part time. Turns out I needed a firmware upgrade so this thing does NOT work out of the box as you'd expect in this day and age. The final thing that made me return it was that you can't do WISP mode on this. What I'd hoped having looked at their website for this model was that the POE module has a LAN port on it and the idea being that the unit goes outside on a 50m CAT5E cable and gets me 4G internet. I then use the POE module's LAN port so I can get that data into my laptop. Not so. I'd have to run a SECOND CAT5E cable out of the bottom of the unit to run back into to my laptop. Following more tech support it turns out that WISP mode is actually not supported on this device and the website is inaccurate/confusing/misleading. For what looked like the dream bit of kit for what I do turned into nothing short of a nightmare. If you're within WIFI range of it, such as it being on the roof of your caravan, shed etc then it'll be great. For those wanting 4G signal + speeds at a distance away from WIFI range - such as me Live Streaming in venues - then this is NOT the kit for you - unless you want two CAT5E cables running to + from. Review: Unreliable and Overpriced - Extremely disappointed with the AC1200 Outdoor 4G Router. Despite the impressive specs, the connection is unstable and frequently drops. The setup process is complicated, and the signal range is very poor. For the price, I expected much better performance. Not recommended for anyone looking for a reliable outdoor WiFi solution. ## Features - [Upgraded Qualcomm Chipset] The AC1200/4G LTE outdoor Wi-Fi router now features an upgraded Qualcomm chipset, delivering a high-performance wireless experience. With improved signal strength and overall performance, you can enjoy a stronger and more reliable connection. Say goodbye to signal dropouts and instability. - [Convert 4G LTE Signal to WiFi] Simply insert a nano SIM card and get the device connected to the power supply through our PoE converter, then the WiFi hotspot provided automatically for you to connect. Users can share a more stable and accessible internet with up to 150Mbps download speed and 50Mbps upload speed, which is especially convenient for places where cable internet is unavailable. - [Dual Band Maximize Speed & Stability] Enjoy ultra-fast 5GHz Wi-Fi with speeds of up to 867Mbps, perfect for bandwidth-intensive tasks like online gaming or streaming. Meanwhile, the stable 2.4GHz band, with speeds of up to 300Mbps, handles simpler tasks like web browsing. With simultaneous processing on both bands, you can seamlessly multitask without compromising speed or stability. - [Designed for Harsh Outdoor Conditions] Equipped with IP65 waterproof enclosure, 15kV ESD protection, it can work normally in rain/snow/wind/thunder and other bad weather. Suitable for outdoor use. - [What You Get for Easy Installation] Comprehensive package to ensure a smooth installation process.
