Hence why I specifically bought a heat protect spray. When I used as per instructions (a light spray before drying then spray each section before straightening) my hair felt awful. I don't like to feel the products in my hair and my hair just felt tangled and sticky. On subsequent use I have lightly sprayed before straightening and it has been ok, not sure if it's protecting my hair though.
