The packaging on this latest purchase was perfect - cardboard box, slice the tape, pop it open. No plastic or extra paper, just the rolled up mat.I'm using these mats on livingroom carpeting. I like being able to vacuum right over them without the edges catching. I've got a wooden door going out to the patio and the door slides right over the top of the mat without moving it.The second mat is placed at the edge of the carpet into the kitchen because that area of the carpeting always shows wear. It's been there for a week and hasn't been a trip hazard. The mat color and design are very attractive so it doesn't look like a front door mat, it looks like an attractive throw rug.I won't go into detail about the sturdy fabric etc, suffice to say I totally agree with all the other praise I've seen here.I'm considering scraping up the money for a bigger (square) WaterHog mat for the front door where I currently have a mat that works great to catch dirt but is a bugger when it comes to vacuuming!
