This account of the tantrums and manipulations of a spoilt brat not getting her own way for the first time in her life isn't worth a penny. Don't waste your money or your time. So she had to hang her own washing on the line? Big deal! Why anyone saw fit to publish this rubbish is a mystery. If I could give no stars at all, I would. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars I have never hated an author more *by C***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 1 August 2012* I picked this up on my Kindle because I wanted something light to read on the way to work. This is the story of Lisa Cook who, after marrying her husband Peter, goes to live in Nagoya, Japan for two years. I used to live in Nagoya, so I thought that it would be a nice, light-hearted read through which I could relive my days there.I was wrong. Though the book was light (very casual reading and I was done in just under 2 weeks), the anger that this book caused me made it that the book effected me even when I wasn't reading.Spoilers - the book contains 97% of Lisa's racist ranting about Japan, and 3% of "oh, I guess it's not so bad and I shouldn't give Japan such a hard time".Life in Japan isn't easy, but when the complaints include "the taxi spells like foreign" and "when they stared at me, there was no love in their eyes" - and even a rant about how a school assembly was *gasp* in Japanese and not English for her sake, I just want to go there and slap her in the face.
