I can use it on both my electric guitar and electric ukelele. The sound level is fine without being overly loud. The fact that it uses a rechargeable battery is another plus. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it doesn't have many effects. For a couple of quid more I have now bought a Valeton rushead Max pocket sized headphone amp which has more effects and, using headphones allows you to play silently.
