It has been described as tasting too smoky, or like gunpowder. [I’ve never tasted gunpowder, so I can’t say.] Hu Kwa tea is some of the best Lapsang tea that I’ve had. The brand has been imported by the Mark T. Wendell Tea Company for over a century— it was originally grown only in China’s Fukien province, but is now grown on the island of Formosa (Taiwan). It’s coppery-red in color, and less harsh than other Lapsang Souchongs that I have had in the past. Recommended.
